Clarence Gayles is running for election to the Michigan House of Representatives, District 3. After attending Jackson State University, Clarence worked for the Detroit Public School System. His most recent position was in Government Relations and Community Engagement with the Children’s Center of Wayne County, advocating on behalf of children with developmental disabilities. 
 
Clarence is a strong supporter of women and families and helped organize the paid sick days campaign with Mothering Justice. He has also been a longtime committed volunteer with Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Michigan, traveling as far as Mississippi to fight back against attacks on access to women’s healthcare. 
 
Clarence’s election will place a true progressive in the state House, where there currently is not one. He is committed to the rebuilding of Detroit.
