Jeannie Darneille
Growing up in a U.S. Air Force household, Jeannie eventually moved to Tacoma in 1979 where she has lived and served her community ever since. After spending 10 years working in colleges and universities in four states, Jeannie has spent the past 30 years in public service as a volunteer, community activist and legislator. Her volunteer service includes City Club of Tacoma, Associated Ministries, Planned Parenthood and Tacoma Community House. Jeannie is also active in her local Democratic Party, serving 14 years as a Precinct Committee Officer and Vice Chair of the Pierce County Democrats. Darneille has served in the Washington State House of Representatives since 2001. As a legislator Jeannie is a consistent advocate and voice for women’s reproductive freedom, social services for vulnerable and underrepresented communities and the environment.
