Our latest endorsements are out.

As you know, Progressive Majority is working to elect progressive champions to state-level offices around the country. As a part of that work, we recruit, identify and assist great progressives in running for office.

On Monday we emailed about Lisa Brown, a proud progressive who was censored on the floor of the Michigan House for daring to say "vagina". Today we're announcing our third and latest batch of candidate endorsements for 2012, more Lisa Browns running in campaigns across the country. Here's more about three of them:

Pat Fleming Pat Fleming is running for State Senate in District 14 in Arizona. She spent her career with the Army as a budget analyst and a manpower allocations analyst, retiring in August 2005, with more than 24 years of service. Pat then served in the Arizona Legislature from 2009 to 2011 as a member of the House of Representatives from Legislative District 25. She received an endorsement from AZ List (Arizona’s Emily's list). This is a targeted district and Pat is a candidate with very high name recognition. This will be a tough race, but Pat is one of the strongest candidates that we could have running in this district.
Tim Allport Tim Allport is running for State Representative in District 27 in Colorado. Tim moved to Jefferson County in 1985 to accept a job with the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Federal Correctional Institution in Littleton and was later promoted to Drug Treatment Specialist. After serving for 25 years, Tim retired to become a State Certified Addictions Counselor. Tim is running in a targeted district in a targeted county. With a seat advantage of one in the House, this district presents us with a strong pick-up opportunity to meet our goal of regaining control of the House.
Collene Lamonte And in Michigan, Collene Lamonte is running for State Representative in District 91. She’s running for a seat in the Michigan House of Representatives because she has seen first-hand how the policies pushed by the Republicans have affected her neighbors, her students and her own family. A high school math and science teacher, and Michigan Education Associate member, she has watched as drastic funding cuts to education resulted in overcrowded classrooms and a lack of supplies for her students. Collene is running for a targeted legislative seat in a targeted county. To make progress toward our goal of flipping control of the Michigan House and taking back the legislature from the anti-women extremists, we must flip control of this seat.

They are just a few of our amazing endorsed candidates, find out more about them all here.
